We are a multi-professional team of psychologists* and social workers.
Our "Trägerverein Psychosoziales Zentrum für Geflüchtete in Nordhessen e.V. - PZG Nordhessen" has been founded with the aim of establishing a psychosocial centre for refugees in Kassel and for the region of Nordhessen. Since 15.11.2017, our initiative has been supported by the Hessian Ministry of Social Affairs. We emerged from the initiative of a larger number of psychotherapists* and psychiatrists* who joined the "Arbeitskreis Flüchtlinge am Alexander-Mitscherlich-Institut Kassel e.V." in September 2015. (AMI)" in September 2015. They found themselves willing to volunteer to offer consultation hours for mentally distressed refugees in the first reception facilities in northern Hessen. This practice is now being continued in the two remaining initial reception facilities in Kassel Niederzwehren and Rotenburg.
The association currently has 35 members, including psychiatrists, psychotherapists, educators and social workers, as well as representatives from various areas of social life. The association is financed by membership fees, sponsorship fees and donations.
The association is responsible for the Psychosocial Centre for Fugitives in Northern Hesse, whose field of activity is outlined and promoted by the Hessian Ministry of Social Affairs. Additional tasks and projects are to be financed by donations and fundraising.
